Yoga is all about that connection between body, mind, and soul. This is something we’ve spoken about many times, and we’re always striving to find the best ways to bring them together. Nature can be a key environment to ease them into balance. Also, being outside in natural sunlight and fresh air has been proven to have so many health benefits. We know this, and that’s why we’ve worked so hard at creating a serene environment in our yoga studios.

But, a few months ago, it was so beautiful outside. It was the perfect temperature. Not too hot, not too cold. So, I decided to take my routine outside. Starting in the Easy Pose with legs crossed and spine straight, it was difficult to get comfortable. The grass was patchy and uneven, and I couldn’t help but be conscious of the old lawn chair to my right. Eventually, I gave up and looked around the yard. Despite being a simple and pleasant yard, it was wasted space. I realized something. We could take advantage of these benefits and make sure our clientele receives a truly serene experience. We could have a studio out here!

To do this, I knew that I would need the best landscape designer in Rancho Santa Fe. After plenty of research on San Diego landscaping companies, I decided on Torrey Pines.

A couple of their projects simply blew me away. I mean, take a look at this La Jolla hardscape project with a fire pit and outdoor kitchen. Not that you could do yoga on it, but it looks stunning.

Then I saw this amazing butterfly garden in Rancho Santa Fe. This would absolutely help set the atmosphere for an awesome yoga session.

And lastly, this fire pit hardscape in Del Mar is what pushed me over the edge. I knew they could help me create an amazing outdoor yoga studio.

They transformed the back yard of our normal studio into a peaceful and beautiful space to practice yoga and meditate. The process to work with them is simply laid out on their website. Starting was simple with a free interview and a refundable design agreement. They were willing to work with me and revise the plans as we settled on the final design.

Despite being well known for their work on conventional yards and entertainment spaces, Torrey Pines agreed that they were up to the task of creating a space perfect for yoga and our specific needs. They listened to our ideas, and not only that but were able to think critically and creatively to make the best use of the space. At the end of the day, we had a perfect area in grass to place our mats and an area for the instructor to lead the group. In addition, there were many other clever elements of design that would make hosting a group simple and easy.

They offered so many different materials to build with and it surprised me when I found out they also offer services like installing waterfalls, koi ponds, fountains, and gardens. All of these things can be used in a creative way to bring serenity to the area. They helped me pick which elements were going to be the most beneficial for our clients. And with Torrey Pines, no two outdoor spaces will be the same.

So, if you’re thinking about setting up a private area for yoga, or if you just want a fully functional (and gorgeous) backyard, you should consider looking into them!
